Accommodation Options

Accommodation arrangements for International students are carefully checked by our Homestay Coordinators and must meet strict requirements. All of our residential caregivers must undergo Police Vetting as part of this process.

Students may live with one of the following:

  • A school approved homestay family

  • A parent who may apply for a Guardian visa to accompany them to New Zealand

  • A family member or close family friend, known to the student’s parents and is approved by the school

All students MUST live with an approved caregiver and cannot live on their own or with friends, even if they are over 18 years of age.

We understand the importance of family, so choosing the right homestay for you is our priority. As part of your application, we ask you to write a letter outlining your interests, as well as things you would like to see and do in NZ. This helps us to pair you with a family that will support you best during your stay.

The homestay experience is a great way to become a ‘kiwi kid’. Our homestay families are within walking distance of school, local shops, cafes, movie theatres and beautiful beaches, giving you plenty of opportunities for weekend fun!

Our caring host families will welcome and treat you as one of the family, help you improve your English language skills and give you the chance to experience life as a New Zealander. As a member of the family, you will be asked to do simple chores, such as making your bed, loading the dishwasher or setting the table for dinner.
